While riding their mountain bikes, Tom Telford and Preston Niederhauser’s conversations frequently turned to the mental health struggles that were becoming more prevalent among the people they knew. That got the wheels spinning: How could they share the simple yet profound message of “You matter” with teens? In this article, the friends explain how they are using their BrainStoke podcast to tell the inspiring stories of ordinary people and how they cope positively with life’s stressors and challenges. We loved having the opportunity to celebrate entrepreneurs in Idaho and Utah this month. Our President and CEO Paul Burdiss offered the keynote address at the U.S. Small Business Administration Utah District’s National Small Business Week Awards ceremony. Edith Gallegos and Alma Lopez of Cakes by Edith received the Minority-Owned Business of the Year. Gallegos immigrated to the U.S. in 1995, making and selling cakes out of her home until it became too small to meet the growing demand for her delicious cakes. They were introduced by Zions Bank's Board Chair Scott Anderson. Zions Bank was proud to receive three awards in recognition of our efforts to provide capital to small businesses: Export Lender, 7(a) Women-Owned and Rural Lender for 2024. In Idaho, Molly Leadbetter of Meriwether Cider was recognized as the Woman-Owned Business of the Year by the SBA Boise District Office. Leadbetter is the Gem State’s only pommelier and has been instrumental in the growth of this award-winning family-owned business. Congratulations to all the honorees — we wish you much continued success on your entrepreneurial journey! Marla Trollan Mike Van Roosendaal Debera Sharples

We have recently learned of clients who have received scam texts from fraudsters using caller ID spoofing to display “Zionsbank” as the sender. The text message (screenshot below) asks recipients to click a link to update their account information. Remember: Zions Bank will never call or text you to ask for personal or confidential information. If you receive this type of text, do not respond or click on links. If you receive a phone call using caller ID spoofing, hang up. Then call a verified bank phone number or visit a local branch. More information on caller ID spoofing is available from the Federal Communications Commission: https://lnkd.in/eGNm84p

Zions Bank’s support for the arts dates back to the 1890s, and nowhere is that more apparent than with our extensive local art collection, highlighted in this The Salt Lake Tribune article by Palak Jayswal. The collection — which can be seen throughout the bank’s footprint in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming — was started decades ago to help artists and encourage the arts while creating an inspiring environment for our clients and employees.
One of Utah’s largest local art collections is in a place you wouldn’t expect
